Biden WH Claims GOP ‘Literally Killing People’ by Fighting Door-to-Door Vaccination Program

Biden’s administration is launching a new “door-to-door” scheme to push Americans to get vaccinated after failing to meet its July 4th goal of having 70 percent of the adult population with at least one shot of the coronavirus vaccine.
In response, South Carolina Republican Gov. Henry McMaster wanted to block the efforts in his state, according to The Associated Press.
In a letter to his state’s health department, McMaster requested it block state and local groups from “the use of the Biden Administration’s ‘targeted’ ‘door to door’ tactics.”
“A South Carolinian’s decision to get vaccinated is a personal one for them to make and not the government’s,” McMaster wrote, according to the AP.
“Enticing, coercing, intimidating, mandating, or pressuring anyone to take the vaccine is a bad policy which will deteriorate the public’s trust and confidence in the State’s vaccination efforts.”
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki responded by suggesting that McMaster was “literally killing people.”
“The failure to provide accurate public health information, including the efficacy of vaccines and the accessibility of them to people across the country, including South Carolina, is literally killing people, so maybe they should consider that,” Psaki said.
Psaki said that the administration has launched “strike forces” to go “door-to-door” to convince people to get their vaccines.
“So we had set a goal of reaching 70% of adults,” Psaki said.
“We’re continuing to press to reach it and we will in the next couple of weeks for adults over the age of 18,” she continued. “But our work doesn’t stop there and we are going to continue to press to get 12 to 18 year-olds vaccinated, to continue to work with communities where there are lower vaccination rates. That’s one of the reasons we initiated these strike forces to go into communities and work with them to determine what they need. To take a localized, specific approach that works with elected officials in communities.”
“If the number of cases continues to trend upward, are there any circumstances under which the White House would reimpose some of those restrictions, as cases tick up, or would that be up to the States?” a reporter later asked Psaki.
“Well, states are going to have to make evaluations and local communities are going to have to make evaluations about what’s in their interests,” Psaki responded.
“And as you know, there are much higher rates of vaccinations in some parts of the country over others and we certainly support their decisions to implement any measures that they think will help their [keep] community safe,” Psaki added.

Later on Tuesday, Biden also spoke about their plan to launch a “door-to-door” initiative to vaccinate Americans.
“Now we need to go community by community, neighborhood by neighborhood and often door-to-door- literally knocking on doors, to get help to the remaining people protected from the virus,” Biden said.

Several GOP lawmakers were quick to slam the idea on Twitter soon after Psaki and Biden’s comments.
The entire idea from the Biden administration is bonkers.
